16 years have passed since the Anglar Invasion.
The Lylat system now stands at peace, thriving and growing like never before. Stability has granted the residents of Lylat's various worlds alike the ability to focus their resources not on war, but on technological advancement and making everyone's lives better. Destroyed cities have been rebuilt, stronger and hardier than ever. The defense systems are better, the pilots and drivers are better, and the organization of government and military is better. Even the murky, poisoned waters of Zoness are regaining their color and life thanks to new drives by the Cornerian populace.

In its very near future, Lylat will become a burning warzone once again. Even with all these neat new upgrades, it'll take a true stroke of strategic, militaristic genius to defend Lylat from its newest foe, and Star Fox is happy to take up the challenge. Together with some unlikely allies it'll make along the way, the Lylat system must stand up against a foe far more powerful than itself. Success is not guaranteed in the slightest. Will Corneria and Lylat prove victorious as they've done so many times in the past?
