Ashen Archives is a community for writing stories, sharing creations, and discussing fictional series. Horror is our favorite genre. The server has a good setup but requires more members. Our current members are pretty friendly and willing to mess around. We moderate to assure our chats are kept mature and safe.


Abysmal Fear SMP
Modded Minecraft SMP (1.20.1 forge)
We have a custom-modded Minecraft SMP project in development called Abysmal Fear. It is currently open for anyone to join but will be application based in the future. It will have player written lore, and player maintained events and mods. 
- Preferred members 17yo and older. 
- After the server stabilizes it will be used for YouTube content to expand its support. Though anyone is free to record videos, and will be encouraged to.


Gameplay
Outside of event restrictions players can play however they wish. There are mods to make gameplay challenging and long lasting. The world is immersive and the combat is enjoyable. 
The themes of the modpack are dark fantasy survival, horror, souls like, rpg, magic, realism, flesh magic, biological science, engineering, combat and warfare, abilities, cosmic horror, and mystery. But various things are added just to balance aspects of the pack and for quality of life. I’ve tried to make the modpack as enjoyable and balanced as possible.

Player run events
Anyone who wishes to start an event is free to do so, although the server will also start its own events. The modpack will naturally require cooperation at times and put people against each other at others. 

Custom mods
Those who cannot make mods can request for content to be made by others, and people who create mods can add them to the server after testing. Though all content needs to get approved for the smp. The mod has custom content from one mod maker and will have new mods introduced by the server owner.

Lore progression 
New lore will be introduced through events, the map, server progression, and modded content. Players can contribute to this themselves but the server will also try to push it forwards with its own efforts. Players will be included in lore as they present themselves, but acting in character roles is allowed, though optional. Existing lore can be expanded upon and previously added modded content can be given its own lore if it lacks any, if the new lore gets approved.
