This is an unofficial Inktober Discord server intended to expand, enhance and connect existing Inktober communities from other platforms. 
We are not affiliated with Inktober®.

We started this server for 3 reasons:
1️⃣  The only other *active* Discord server for Inktober is specific to the subreddit */r/inktober* and it caters specifically to the community and rules of that subreddit, which brings us to the second reason...
2️⃣  Having been in multiple different Facebook groups for Inktober with different rules, it's been very clear that people have a few major different ideas about *how* Inktober should be enjoyed. Some want rules, some want none.
3️⃣  There can be unnecessary drama and controversy that comes with specific major social media platforms, and that shouldn't be a requirement for getting to participate in an online Inktober community.

Discord is one of the few platforms with the capability of hosting a virtual space that can accommodate the variety within the Inktober-enthusiast community. Rather than host a community under a narrow ruleset for some, the purpose of this group is to provide a place where anyone can come to participate in Inktober; whether you follow the rules or don't, there is a place for you, and a way for us all to coexist without stepping on each other's toes or *having* to combat each other's sensibilities. How? By providing separate submission channels that cater to the most common groups, as well as a channel with essentially no rules. There are also community text and voice-chat channels where everyone can gather to respectfully discuss and share, and a ModMail system specifically in place for you to get help if you're confused about the server or need to report behavior which violates the guidelines. You don't have to leave your existing Inktober communities. In fact, we hope to work *with* leaders of those groups so that this place can become an extension of their current platform, and incorporate their input into how this server can best accommodate them.

The name of the platform may be called "Discord", but our intention is to bring harmony. Will you join us?
