# Who Are We?

*Legends of the Ancients or "LotA" is a Roleplay server centered around a grounded, historical theme which*
*aims to take a unique approach to Ancient Greece; forgoing powers and myths instead for epic tales of*
*mortal strife and danger. The server is young and open to most; with plenty of information to get someone*
*who isn't well acquainted with the time period and theme to a point where they can RP with little issue.*
*Furthermore, to avoid this becoming a history class, certain characters, events, and timelines have been*
*altered to better fit the server and the stories we're telling. Rather than strictly playing out history, we're*
*letting the political, social, and economic climate of the time, along with some events shape the server and*
*give us a unique setting to craft our own individual stories within.*

# What is the Theme?

*LotA takes place in 424BC, during the Classical Era of Ancient Greece. Where we differentiate ourselves from*
*other servers is not just in layout and methods of doing things, but in our approach to this era. Rather than*
*focusing on the immaculate and in-depth mythology surrounding ancient Greek culture, we have decided to*
*theme ourselves around the rich history and turmoil this time period has to offer. This gives us the perfect*
*canvas to paint our own stories onto.

*Characters can range from peasants to members of the Aristocracy; allowing you to become part of this*
*world in whichever way you see fit. Interwoven between individual guided stories will be large events for*
*RPers to take part in should they see it befitting for their characters. Immaculate, set piece battles on land or*
*sea, espionage, and deceit, or even simply large events like the Olympics. The sky is the limit here.*
