The year is 1950, and the world is drastically diverting from our own timeline. Due to Stalin intermingling with military affairs during ww2 and heavier paranoia, the Soviet armies preformed worse in ww2 with the allies managing to take Berlin while the soviet armies got bogged down in a bloodbath in western Poland and Prussia. Lacking a German puppet state and suffering heavy internal instability the Soviet Union took part in another bloody continuation war with Finland that ended in it's annexation at a high cost, becoming another bloody scar for the USSR. A eastern European oil crisis is also looming, as oil fields in Romania and other parts of eastern Europe are projected to run out by the mid 60s while in Finland, partisans pummel the soviet occupiers daily. In the east, Communist China is also on stronger footing due to Stalin's intervention. North Korea became part of Communist China, Taiwan and Tibet too became annexed with the Chinese refusing to leave Macau and Hong Kong and continuing to eye up it's neighbors. Meanwhile in the West, Nuclear technological breakthroughs continue in the civilian and military sectors with the first commercial nuclear plants going to open up in 1955. Nuclear technology is advancing at a terrifying pace and Red Scare is in full effect in the west. The world lies in uncertain times as the Republic of South Korea will officially be formulated at the end of 1950, and many more wars even deadlier than the last are on the horizon.
