Fenumion is a land of divides and echoes, a world that remembers what it once was.... even as it breaks beneath the strain of what it has become. Once, adventurers came summoned from foreign realms to its shores bright-eyed and unbroken, awed by its sweeping plains, its sacred groves, and the gleaming towers that crowned the horizon. There was a time when the islands stood shoulder to shoulder and the name of every hero was sung in taverns. Now, walls have risen where the fields once stretched, and the void divides as the world is turned to ash by Death, who wishes to remake the world in his image.
In the center, the town of Pristinia endures — proud, but splintered. It is a place of of wanderers, displaced by the breaking world, where every street hums with rumor and every tavern holds camaraderie. New adventurers arrive here, some for good, some for ill. Pristinia has been through a lot, pain, loss, and even death. Yet, for all its sorrow, Pristinia remains the heart of Fenumion, beating on through hardship, its people stubbornly refusing to give up on the good that yet lives in the world.
There is also the redeemed Isle of Gael, a land beset by shadow — where refugees huddle against the walls of the great tower as creatures of the dark leak out from the wilds. It is said that if a settlement could ever be built there, hope might take root again. At the front of the war, the great nation of Zarathis on the Isle of Fein Uaill trembles beneath a coming eclipse, a sign of heavenly invasion — an omen that the gods themselves are stirring in retribution, and the balance of the cosmos is about to change.
