How to Play
Information is also available in Discord with the /help
command.
Skin Quest is a collecting game based on Counter-Strike's case unboxing and item trading features. As members send messages in your server, the bot will randomly "drop" items to them - either a case or a key, which the bot will indicate by reacting to your message. New users will also be gifted five free cases and keys to get started - you'll receive a DM notifying you upon registration.

Once you have a case and a key that corresponds to that case, you can open it with the /unlock
command, and it will generate an unboxing video similar to the one in Counter-Strike that shows you the gun skin you received. All items - cases, keys, and skins will be added to your inventory, which you can view the the /inventory
command.

Every 24 hours you can also use the /dailyreward
command to receive a free case and key - these tend to be rarer than regular drops.
Increase Your Drop Rates and Unboxing Odds
Each time you receive a drop, your odds of getting another will decrease, but your odds reset after a cooldown. Spamming the chat isn't against Skin Quest rules, but you are responsible for following the rules of servers you are in, so spam messages in appropriate channels only.
Some cases are rarer than others. However, when opened, they'll give you items of greater rarity as well.
Also note that drop rates are influenced by the number of members in your server. The more members a server has, the greater the drop rate. So invite the bot to your biggest servers to receive the most drops!
Trading
All items you own can be traded to other users. Create a trade request with the /trade offers create
command, or if someone else sends you a trade, you can view it with the /trade offers incoming
command. Users on both ends will receive notifications in DMs when the request is updated.

Be careful: once you've accepted a trade, there's no way to undo it, and the Skin Quest support team can't help you. However, you can cancel a trade that you've sent, before the target user accepts it.
You can also set up your privacy settings (/privacy settings
) to limit who can send you trade requests. However, note that there is not currently any way to prevent users from viewing your inventory - you can only stop them from sending trade offers.
Trade Up Contracts
Another feature inspired from Counter-Strike, you can "Trade Up" ten items of equal rarity for one item of the next higher rarity, from a collection of one of the items you provided (excluding the Covert and Contraband rarities, and all Knife and Glove skins). Use the /tradeup help
command for more info, or use the /tradeup contract
command to get started.

There is also an autofill feature if you don't want to manually select the ten items to trade up, and there is an outcomes calculator to tell you the probabilities of all possible outcomes of your contract.
Disclaimers
Please also note that all items in the game are for entertainment purposes only - while they are based on Counter-Strike items, receiving items in Skin Quest will not give you the items in Counter-Strike. The items also have no monetary value, and there is no official way to sell in-game items for real money. Third-party sites that may offer such services are not endorsed by Skin Quest and there is no guarantee of their security, and Skin Quest is not responsible for the loss of your items or other fraudulent activity.
Not Affiliated With Valve Corporation
Skin Quest uses images from Valve's video game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2. Skin Quest does not claim to own these images, or use them for monetary gain. Admin Features
Server administrators can set up the following features (more info in Discord with /admin help
):
- News Channel (
/admin newschannel
): every time a user unboxes a rare item in your server, or used a case or a key that was dropped in your server to obtain a rare item, a notification will be sent in the News Channel announcing the unboxing. Great way to increase user engagement and attract users to your server (especially if you have a lot of members, and they're unboxing a lot of rare items).
- Invite Link (
/admin invitelink
): when users view an item anywhere in Discord, Skin Quest will display the server that the item was unboxed in, and the server(s) that the case and key were dropped in that were used to unbox the item. If you set an invite link, Skin Quest will also provide that invite link with your server name. It's free advertising! Of course, if you don't want random people to join your server this way, you can abstain from setting an invite link.
- Channels Blacklist (
/admin channelsblacklist
): prevent the bot from giving drops in specific channels.
Also note that if the bot is not given sufficient permissions, it will not execute any commands and will give you a warning message every time you try to use a command. Additionally, in channels the bot does not have the Add Reactions
permission in, it will not give drops in that channel.

Note that the Skin Quest Discord bot is slash-command only, and does not support any prefix commands through sending messages. Additionally, Skin Quest only works in Discord servers, not in direct messages with the bot - however, you will still receive notifications in DMs.
Thanks for using Skin Quest!
