Nexus

Nexus is a Discord moderation and server management bot designed to help server owners maintain healthy and organized communities through behavior-based moderation and detailed transparency tools.

Nexus is a dashboard-first bot and does not rely on traditional text commands. The web dashboard is the main point of entry, where server owners configure moderation rules, review actions, and manage all features on a per-server basis. The dashboard only displays servers where the user is the server owner, ensuring users can only manage servers they are legitimately allowed to control.

Nexus focuses on context-aware moderation rather than simple keyword detection. The bot analyzes user behavior over time (message frequency, repetition, recurrences) to detect spam or abusive patterns while avoiding penalties during active conversations between multiple users.

Moderation actions are progressive and configurable per server. Depending on the situation, Nexus can automatically delete messages or apply temporary timeouts. Every action is recorded with full context, including surrounding messages, to allow proper and transparent review.

A key feature of Nexus is its sanction review system. When a moderation action is applied, users can contest it directly. Server administrators can then review the case, confirm the action, or mark it as a false positive. These decisions are logged and influence future behavior analysis, improving accuracy over time.

Through the dashboard, server administrators can:

Add Nexus to their servers

Configure moderation rules independently per server

View detailed moderation logs and statistics

Enable or disable features based on their needs

For role-related features (such as automatic roles or role assignments), Nexus only displays and manages roles that are lower than the bot’s role in the Discord role hierarchy, in accordance with Discord’s security rules. Roles above the bot’s role cannot be selected or managed.

Nexus does not require the Administrator permission. Only the permissions strictly necessary for its features are requested, following the principle of least privilege. To ensure full functionality, the bot role must be placed high enough in the server’s role hierarchy.
