The year is 6 ABY, 25 years after the end of the disastrous Clone Wars. The Galactic Empire had taken hold of the galaxy with an iron grasp, a symbol of might and power. Once, it had been unthinkable to fight against the Emperor's Legions. But the daring freedom fighters of the Rebel Alliance have broken cracks in the Empire's hold.

With the Emperor's demise on Endor, the Empire had fractured overnight. Already petty squabbles and long rivalries have turned into brutal battles between former comrades. The Rebel Alliance has formed into the New Republic, spreading their message of freedom and democracy across the former worlds of the Empire.

Factions fight for supremacy. The Dark Empire makes powerful strides towards reconquest of the galaxy. The New Republic is stretched across many fronts, trying it's best to fell the still mighty remnants of the Galactic Empire.
