Welcome to the (un)official Discord server for Korean entertainment label Antenna, made by good people who love good music and good laughter!

HISTORY

Originally named Toy Music, Antenna is a label founded by famed Korean composer and singer Yoo Hee-yeol of the one-man band Toy in 1997. In e would then recruit his first artist Cho Yun-seok formerly of the band Miseoni, better known by the stage name Lucid Fall, of which Yoo was a big fan of. Yoo would also recruit the agency's first female artist, up-and-coming singer-songwriter Park Sae-byul, prompting him to change the company's name to Antenna Music, aiming to introduce good music like radio waves from an antenna. Singer-songwriter and pianist Jung Jae-hyung, and rock duo Peppertones would later join the company soon after, becoming the so-called Antenna Warriors.

CEO Yoo Hee-yeol would later join the third season of audition program K-Pop Star, expanding the company to include runner-up Sam Kim and third placer Kwon Jin-ah, as well as fourth season runner-up Jung Seung-hwan and third placer Lee Jin-ah, forming the Antenna Angels. The company would also change their logo to their current one in 2015.

Yoo would recruit more artists to join his now growing label, including jazz pianist and composer Yun Seok-cheol in 2019, and singer-songwriter and guitarist Jukjae in 2020.

Kakao Entertainment would then acquire a 19% stake in the company in 2021. As famed entertainer Yoo Jae-suk's contract expired with his former label FNC Entertainment, he joined Antenna as the agency's first non-musician, sparking interest among Korean culture lovers. Months later, he would encourage CEO Yoo Hee-yeol to recruit Lee Mi-joo of Lovelyz. Superband 2's Hwang Hyeon-jo would later join the agency in 2022.
