Resumen

Anime News & character search, theme songs & anime discovery!

Anime News

The bot pulls from several RSS feeds including Muse Asia, Seiyuu Corner, and AniNotify. It checks for new posts every 15 minutes and sends them to any channel you set up. You can pick exactly which sources you want in each channel, so one server room can get general news while another only gets seiyuu updates. Upcoming anime releases are checked once per hour and also get delivered automatically.

Search and Discovery

Type a command with an anime title and the bot searches the Jikan API (the same data MyAnimeList uses). You get the synopsis, score, episode count, duration, Japanese title, English title, air dates, and a cover image. If you pick from the search results using the dropdown menu, the bot shows all those details in a clean container.

Characters work the same way. Search for a character name and pick from the list. The bot shows their kanji name, gender if available, age, birthday, voice actors, and which anime they appear in.

If you want theme songs for a specific anime, the bot pulls the opening and ending lists. You can then click a button to search YouTube for the official version. It tries to filter out piano covers, remixes, karaoke versions, and other unofficial uploads.

The recommendation system takes an anime title you like and finds what other viewers also enjoyed.

Charts and Schedules

There are commands for top anime in several categories: currently airing, most popular all time, most favorited, movies only, and TV series only. Each list supports pagination so you are not stuck with just the first 25 results.

The current season command shows what is airing right now, sorted by score. The schedule command shows which days of the week each anime airs. There is also a separate command for anime that are still releasing new episodes.

Music Player

When you find a theme song you want to hear, the bot joins your voice channel and plays the YouTube audio. It only pulls the audio stream to save bandwidth. The player handles one track at a time and disconnects automatically when the song ends. If someone else tries to play something while a track is already going, the bot tells them to wait.

AFK System

Users can set an AFK status with a reason. The bot changes their nickname to include AFK so everyone can see it at a glance. When the user comes back and sends a message, the bot restores their original name. If someone mentions a user who is AFK, the bot replies with the reason and how long ago they went away. You can also list all AFK users in the server with a paginated list.

Other Features

The bot responds to both slash commands and traditional prefix commands. The default prefix is a question mark, but server admins can change it to something else using a slash command.

The watch time calculator asks for an anime title and estimates how many hours and minutes it would take to finish the entire show. It uses the episode count and the average episode duration from MyAnimeList.

If you just want something random, there is a command that picks a random anime. You can optionally filter by genre such as action, adventure, comedy, drama, fantasy, horror, romance, sci-fi, or slice of life.

The bot stores server settings and news subscriptions in a Supabase database so nothing gets lost when the bot restarts. and the bot automatically saves everything before restart/.

You can see the full command list on the website. The dashboard lets server admins change settings without touching some of the commands.
