Workshop Info Bot

Workshop Info Bot helps you interact with steam workshop content posted in Discord channels. It responds to steam workshop links with a detailed embed featuring the preview pic, a best effort markdown formatted description, and a few important stats, like the mods size and human readable time since last update.

If you want more information on a mod, you can use the w.info <id> command for a more detailed embed featuring subscriber and favorite percentages, app id, file id, and much more.

Commands:

w.info <id|url> Extended information about a workshop item

w.ping Bot connection stats

w.invite Sends a Direct Message containing an invite link

w.help The help command

Additionally, steam workshop URLs posted in chat will trigger a shortened embed response. For some games, the bot can detect potentially outdated workshop items.

Some notable drawbacks of the Steam formatting to Discord Markdown conversion:

• The description length is limited to 2000 characters, meaning longer descriptions can be cut off potentially breaking formatting.
• Images cannot be displayed.
• Tables are omitted from the embed.
• noparse tags are not currently supported
• Not all Steam formatting options have equivalents in discord. For example, headers vs bold text
