Hide & Shriek — How to Play

Type /menu → Play Now to begin. You move through a 6×6 house grid, searching rooms for the hidden key. Use the movement buttons to explore each cell. When Search Here turns green, press it to search furniture in that room. Only one piece of furniture contains the key each round. Once you find it, move to the EXIT at (5,5) in the bottom-right corner and press ESCAPE to win.

Each game uses a randomized house layout, so rooms and furniture locations change every round. The hint text and status bar guide you by showing your position, the killer’s distance, and your current catch chance.

The Masked Killer moves toward you every tick, and the chance of being caught increases over time. If possible, hide behind furniture, which lowers the catch chance significantly. If there’s nothing to hide behind, you may need to run to another room.

You can also use items from the shop or found during the game. Examples include Decoy (teleports the killer away), Smoke Bomb (freezes the killer), Fortify (reduces catch chance), Fight Back (50/50 survival if caught), and Flashbang (makes the killer move randomly).

Win Conditions • Escape: Find the key → reach EXIT → press ESCAPE • Survive: Last until police arrive • Lose: The killer catches you.
