Monster Bash

Choose your monster and go head-to-head against your friends on Discord! Monster Bash! is a turn-based battle royale that's easy to learn but hard to master: learn your enemy's strengths and weaknesses to gain the upper hand and rule the arena!

Quick-start guide:

!help

Brings up help and new character menu. Create a new character. Example: !new_character Vampire

!attack

Brings up the attack menu. Attack players within your server or in any other servers that the bot is on. Refer to the characters for individual attack abilities.

Example:!bite @CodeMonkey#1234

!inventory

Brings up inventory.

!do_not_disturb

Don't want players attacking you? Just put this sign up!

!quit

Quit the last battle you were in.

Rules:

1. Choose your action wisely: actions are one of four types (like rock-paper-scissors-shotgun). PARRY actions beat SLASH, which beat FEIGN attacks, which beat REACH, which in turn beat PARRY.
2. Simultaneous turns: each character nominates their action, which are played out simultaneously.
3. DM your actions to the game master: use stealth and guile! Don't post your actions on the channel, DM your commands to Centaurette, the game master.
4. Roll the dice: the game master rolls a D20, adds stat, action & equipment-bonuses depending on the outcome. For example, if you choose PARRY and the enemy chooses SLASH, you get an action bonus as PARRY beats SLASH. The bigger the number, the better your chances!
5. Deal damage: the higher roll wins & deals damage to you or the enemy. Critical rolls (20) deal double damage.
6. Special abilities: successful attacks trigger special abilities which occur automatically the this or the next turn(s).
7. Role-play (features coming soon): equip armor & weapons, buy & sell equipment from the store & other players & send your character out on gnarly adventures!
