A bot who serves to give its user a custom grand entrance.
Herald plays a theme song for the users who use it upon their entrance to a voice channel. Users may add their own theme song via a youtube url, which will play for a default length of 15 seconds. Users can tweak the duration of their themesong to play between 1 to 40 seconds. Herald will only usher in your arrival once per day.
Use the %help command to see the list of commands in text chat.
%addtheme: Add or update your theme song. When you join a voice channel your theme song will play on any server with Herald.
Example: %addtheme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyIVAm9PVrI%toggle: Toggle the playing of your theme song, if you don't want your theme song to play, run this command to turn it off. If you want to renable, use this command again.
Example: %toggle%duration Enter the amount of seconds to play your theme song. Defaults to 15 seconds, maxes out at 40 seconds. Changing the duration with refresh the cooldown for when the bot will play your theme.
Example: %duration 214

Exactly what I've been searching for! Is their a chance you could add an option to customize the cooldown, so instead of a day it could be just an hour? Thanks either way for making this!
Hey thanks for the suggestion! I'll take a look into seeing what I can do to make the cooldown a little bit more customizable. Glad you like it!
Love the bot but I agree with DoomSan, would love if it could be used more than once a day
It's an interesting bot, but a bit unreliable and not very customizable. Is there any chance that this bot is open source? I would like to see what goes into it's functionality.
Agree with Doomsantos - some more admin level commands to set cooldowns, and for the bot to acknowledge when the youtube link has a set start time would be awesome. Other than that, it's been fun to use!
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll see if I can get something working where you can set a start time. I've fiddled around with seeking out timestamps before so I'll see if I can implement that into this. Glad you found fun in the bot lol
