We've squashed some bugs and introduced some quality of life improvements to Ostra. "Fancy" Welcome Message previews The preview for Welcome Messages set to use the Fancy message appearance option will now be displayed as an embed to match their appearance in-app. Message Builder Tags previews Tags configured to use Message Builder messages can now be previewed from the Tags page in the dashboard without opening Message Builder. However, opening Message Builder is still necessary for editing them. Message Builder embed editor fixes Fixed an issue where custom emojis would incorrectly render in embed author names, as well as emojis being moved to the start of author names, embed titles, and field titles in the preview. Emoji pickers have also been added to embed titles and field titles. Message Builder preview button styles match Discord redesign Buttons as they appear in the Message Builder message preview now match Discord's desktop visual redesign from earlier this year. Fixed mentions in light mode The Welcome Messages and Tags previews previously incorrectly used the dark mode style for mentions in light mode. This issue has been resolved. Internal improvements Other changes have been made to improve performance and resolve minor internal issues.

Message Builder is now in beta, available for all servers to use! Create fully custom messages with embeds, buttons, and media straight from the dashboard. Take control of your branding by customizing the Display Name and Profile Picture used to send your messages. Custom Buttons You can have up to 5 rows of buttons in each message. Currently, buttons can be configured to open links, open Role Menus, or send a Tag to the user. Group Role Menus together, make concise messages that reveal more information after pressing a button, the world is your canvas 🎨 Message Builder messages as Tags Message Builder messages can be sent straight from the dashboard, and this is great for one-off posts like information messages or announcements, but what about those questions server members frequently ask in chat? This is what Tags are for, and you can also save Message Builder messages as Tags for convenient, reusable access in chat! New options for Tags Tags gain 3 new configurable options: Allowed Roles: Restrict access to a tag to a specific set of roles. Great for when you want to allow general access to Tags to all server members, but restrict some Tags for staff members only. Tag Visibility: Optionally hide tags from all commands, helpful for tags that you only intend users to see if they press a button that's configured to send it to them. Allowed Mentions: Allow the tag to mention additional server members. Tags and Message Builder messages can't mention other server members by default 🔐 New command: Reply With Tag Using Tags to answer a member's question in chat? You can now long-press (or right-click) a message, and select Apps → Reply With Tag. Select a tag to reply with, and Ostra will reply to the message with that tag. It behaves similarly to using /tag and specifying the "for" option normally, but appears visually connected to the question that was asked, providing context and improving the experience for that member. Permissions changes The "Use Tags" permission is now "Use Tags in chat". Tags are now able to be sent privately, rather than always publicly. The new purpose of this permission is to determine whether the user should be able to have tags send in chat publicly for others to see, otherwise they'll still be able to use tags, but only they will see the message. Members without this permission won't be able to use "Reply With Tag" at all. If you prefer the old behavior, there is an option in Settings to restore it. Additionally, the "Use Message Builder" permission is now available. It will grant access to the editor, and the ability to send Message Builder messages, but only in channels that the user has permission to send messages in normally. Threads are not supported at this time. Use emojis from other servers you're in that use Ostra Think of it like Discord Nitro for your Ostra dashboard! When you open the emoji picker, in addition to seeing built-in emojis and emojis in the current server, you will now also see emojis in all other servers you're in that use Ostra. You don't need to have any special permissions in these servers- this feature isn't giving you access to manage those servers in any way, it's just letting you use their emojis in servers you do have access to manage. Create your own "Ostra Emojis" server, or join a friend's and build your collection! Markdown rendering in message previews The Message Builder editor as well as the existing Tags and Welcome Messages editors now support rendering markdown, mentions, and custom emojis in their message preview fields, making it easier to get a feel for how they will look on Discord. Emoji 15.1 support Ostra now supports emojis added in the emoji 15.1 spec, bringing compatibility on par with iOS 18 and all new emojis Discord supports. Mobile emoji picker To improve the experience for our vast number of mobile users, the emoji picker has been completely redesigned on mobile! Enjoy a full screen, mobile-optimized experience when using the emoji picker on mobile! Tablet and desktop users will remain unaffected by this change.
