Coexistence

One day, whether it be as a child, a teenager, a full grown adult, you will suddenly find yourself slipping into slumber and having another one of those odd dreams. However, what you don't know is that this one dream will change your entire life. You will see through the eyes of a creature that you will become from then on. You may like the feeling of this dream, you may hate it, and you may just... Not care, it could just seem like another dream. Regardless, this will be your new life, and you won't even know it. The next morning, you will wake up to...

Another normal day. Only then, depending on your creature, will you discover your new power and be welcomed to this new world of creatures by your assigned God. Although, there is always the bad side of something. Yes, it is indeed a blessing to possess such amazing powers, one in which can surely be used to save and protect others. But of course, that is never the case. Many creatures will abuse their new power, endangering the public and anyone in their path. Which is why, sadly, creatures are seen as a threat, whether their intentions are pure or not. Any creatures seen transforming or revealed by others will be arrested. The government (yeah, them) want to protect the human society, but believe that with creatures around, and their godly power that cannot be contained, will be the pinnacle of extinction and cause of all troubles. Be careful out there.

Thankfully, creatures themselves can go into hiding. If you have gained control over your power, you can live a normal, human life, going on with your days, getting a job, watching sitcoms at home, walking your dog, all of which any average person would do. But, if you'd still like to express this creature within you, there are 'havens', per se, in every region. There's the depths of hell to hide in if you're a Demon, there is the aether in the heavens above for Angels, however, not really a place to go for Earthlings.
