Basement is out now 🛸⚡️ With the release of 2021's viral hit 'White Boys', it seemed as if the Islington born rapper could do no wrong. The single was picked up and playlisted by MTV, BBC Radio 1 and The Pit London dubbed King Kofi as the one to watch, being the first but not the last of publications to tell their readers to expect mainstream success from the artist, and soon. The single was then followed up with rap anthem "Ghetto", as well as a genre-bending, critically acclaimed LP to go with it ("Primary Colours"). With the album growing in popularity, (nearing 1 million streams on Spotify alone) it seemed as though the early predictions were right. Residing on the borderline between Camden and Islington, the release of 2016’s ‘Just A Dude In Need Of A Chance’ mixtape saw a 20 year old King Kofi gain a cult following, reaching all the way over to North America and various locations across the globe. He then followed up the project at the start of 2018 with the release of Bandcamp exclusive ‘Summer With the Wolves’ which cemented the artist as one of the UK’s most conceptual young storytellers. The project suggested the rapper had found his sound and his footing, seamlessly merging sounds of trap, indie and experimental rock.
