Wilbur’s hand lingered overtop of the button that sat on the wall, fingers lightly placed against the stone that stuck out and with the slightest pressure, all of this, everything he helped to build, would go up into shambles. He slowly turned to meet Philza’s gaze. His own mocha colored eyes were glossy and had a sort of darkness lingering in them, and yet even with the fact he was close to tears, even with the fact he was clearly suffering, he wore a large smile across his face, a manic one, but still, it was a smile and as he grinned wide enough to make his cheekbones sore, he spoke in a hushed tone, as though he were worried the wrong person would hear him speak. ❝It was never meant to be.❞ and with that his fingers finally applied the bit of pressure needed as everything he ever loved went up in flames.
