BookBot will scrape the web and return details on a given book. BookBot offers the top 5 results from your query for you to pick from.
BookBot is built on Python and implements BeautifulSoup to scrape Goodreads for details on books. After the users inital search 5 results are provided to mitigate typos. The user than selects which of the top 5 results matches their desired title. To use BookBot:
- Type "book:" followed by a title.
- Type "!#" where # identifies the result that you're looking for.
- Bookbot returns Title, Publish Date, Author, Description, Coverart and a link to the page on Goodreads.
