a few years before the disaster hit yokohama, november 5th, 2001 (season 3). regular as regular could get, the armed detective agency still solving their daily cases and the port mafia still causing disasters. certainly nobody could’ve predicted this incident, not even those of high intelligence. an ability user capable of forming an incurable world wide catastrophe.

haruki murakami (ability: hard-boiled wonderland); a government experiment and an ability user whose been hidden underground in japans sewers for decades. his ability is one that’s been fueled by chemicals and medications of the past, only boosting it in strength. to the governments disappointment this ability was a ticking time bomb, meaning his mere existence was a danger to human life as a whole. his own life alone on a moving clock.

once the day had hit, his ability released toxic substances into the oxygen surrounding the city as death had creeped into his system. only to spread worldwide, the odd part, that scientists couldn’t place their fingers on, is the fact that those who died from the virus managed to come back to life in what seems to be a different life form. almost as if the only thing working in the body is the brain and muscle memory, some zombies picking up habits they had when they were still fully present in their bodies.

as of now, september 30th, 2005, the remaining humans fend for themselves, travel in groups, and scavenge for the leftovers of the old world. using their abilities and even weapons to defend themselves from the dead and even eachother.
