VoxeLibre (fka. MineClone2)

This discord server is about MineClone2, a faithful free (as in "freedom") clone of the popular game Minecraft (PC Edition 1.12). MineClone2 is a subgame for the Minetest Engine (https://minetest.net/), and therefore it is written in Lua (https://lua.org/).

To install MineClone2, just start Minetest and select the "Content" tab in the main menu. Then click on "Browse online content" and search for "MineClone2". The first result should be the game. Press the green "+" to install MineClone2. Afterwards, press "Back to main menu" and then select the "Start game" tab if you want to create a new world. After clicking the MineClone2 logo you just need to press the "New" button to create a new world. Alternatively, you can join one an existing MineClone2 server. For this, it is not required for you to install MineClone2, you just need Minetest. Check out the #servers channel if you want to find out about cool servers that run MineClone2.

You start in a randomly-generated world made entirely of cubes. You can explore the world and dig and build almost every block in the world to create new structures. You can choose to play in a “survival mode” in which you have to fight monsters and hunger for survival and slowly progress through the various other aspects of the game, such as mining, farming, building machines, and so on. Or you can play in “creative mode” in which you can build almost anything instantly.

This game is currently in beta stage. It is playable, but not yet feature-complete. Backwards-compability is not entirely guaranteed, updating your world might cause small bugs. If you want to use the git version of MineClone2 in production, consider using the production branch. It is updated weekly and contains relatively stable code for servers.
