"Minarchy" is a Libertarian model of a state that is limited and minimal, whose only functions are to act as an enforcer of the non-aggression principle by providing citizens with the military, the police, (and to many Minarchists, roads); thereby the government is simply protecting citizens from aggression, theft, breach of contract, and fraud, whilst also enforcing property laws.
