S.H.I.E.L.D.: Section Zero

After HYDRA’s infiltration and control directed by many HYDRA officials, S.H.I.E.L.D. was publicly shattered, only to be rebuilt under the leadership of Phil Coulson. However, in the shadows of this reformation, a secret division was established—Section Zero—to handle covert, high-risk missions that could not be disclosed to the public or even to the majority of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Section Zero was designed for one purpose: to deal with the darkest threats in the world. These threats ranged from rogue S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, to highly classified alien technologies, to global conspiracies that could destabilize the world if exposed. While Coulson and his team focused on more visible, politically sensitive issues, Section Zero operated in total secrecy, ensuring these global dangers were neutralized before they ever became public knowledge.

Section Zero’s agents are S.H.I.E.L.D.’s most elite operatives, selected for their ability to work in the shadows without leaving a trace. Some are former Hydra agents, mercenaries, or spies who have turned a new leaf, time-displaced agents, while others are recruited from the highest levels of military, tech, and intelligence agencies. Each agent has a unique skill set, making them ideal for deep-cover operations and missions that require absolute discretion.

The division works directly under Phil Coulson, though he is not always aware of the full scope of their activities. Coulson trusts the division’s results, but their operations are so secretive that even he is kept in the dark about the details. The existence of Section Zero is a closely guarded secret, with only a handful of trusted individuals knowing about its existence.
