The Church In The Hallway

The Church In The Hallway is an online, worshiping community, based upon the Benedictine Monastic tradition. Together we worship, pray, discuss, laugh, and work together. We are Pentecostals and Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholics and Presbyterians, Baptists and Lutherans, Anglicans and non-denominational Christians, and anyone else who may or may not fit the categories above described. We are shut-ins and parents of the handicapped who may not be able to go to church regularly. We are caretakers, moms and dads, teenagers and college students, who have found ourselves living in the Hallway presented in the Preface to C.S. Lewis' classic, Mere Christianity. When St. Benedict came of age to be educated, he visited Rome and found the city and the church to be corrupt. With this, he left Rome and lived in a cave for three years, accepting visitors and living the life of a hermit. While in Subaico, he established three communities of twelve men, laying the foundation for the rule which bears his name. The Church in the Hallway is the New Subaico, where we do not live in caves, but we come to follow Jesus together online.
