A wide array of superpowers, built-in modularity, and detailed explanations of the terms used. Source material; TorchDice
This bot allows users to roll from a list of over 1k superpowers and then add modifiers that further add complexity. Modifiers, terms, and categories all have detailed explanations of what they entail for how the power can be expressed. All the terms and powers come from the trpg system; TorchDice.
Here's a quick guide on what to do when rolling some powers!
1: Roll a set of 5 powers with the "powerset" command.
2: Then they roll the relevant modifier for said powers. An invalid mod automatically shifts it to its' Standard version.
3: You get two mulligans, which rerolls the entire set and invalidates the previous one.
4: Or you may reroll a single mod, once, at the cost of locking in that set regardless of how many times you've rerolled. Rerolling the mod can only be done if you have at least one set reroll left.
5: Or you can get an additional modifier placed on a power that locks in the set, functioning identically to rule 4. But you can pick between the old and new version of the power you applied a second modifier to.
6: Have fun. These rules are just suggestions based on the origins for everything in this bot that can be found using the /credit command.
THE SHINY CLAUSE
Some powers have an existence that is so horrifically unique or broad, most power mods are invalid, or limit the power in a way that fails to give new avenues to explore. Powers affected by this clause have +2 mod rerolls but rerolling even once still locks in the set.
Examples of such powers include:
Time Manipulation
Space Manipulation
Magic Manipulation
Ki/Chi Manipulation
…
Anything else suspected of qualifying needs to be ruled on by an admin at the time of rolling.
How To Apply Modifiers
For the most part, how a modifier affects a power is self-evident, such as with “Fire Manipulation” + “Blade” becomes “Fire Blade” and you follow the modifier description for how it should work.
However, some modifiers with more vague descriptions, and especially the application of multiple modifiers, can muddle things. Here are some examples of how to think about applying these modifiers in such situations:
Ice Manipulation + Conceptual + Death + Creature Creation = “Concetual Death Ice Creature Creation”
This power is now focused entirely on making sentient ice golems and specialized creatures capable of freezing a target’s soul inside of their body and then puppet them to do the user’s bidding.
