Introducing Lux AI Chatbot (Alpha Testing) - Now with Anime, Cats, and Currency! We're so excited to share some big updates to the Lux AI Chatbot! We're continuing to build local AI right into your Discord using Ollama and the awesome Gemma3 4B language model. Now, besides chatting with AI, you can get random anime and cat pictures, and even do currency conversions right in your server!

What's New (Still Being Built): Memory: You can now toggle memory saving with slash command. Your chat memory is saved on safe server (the same server the bot is hosted on). Only text starting with "luxbot" is saved. AI Chat: Talk to the bot and ask questions in Discord channels. Just start your message with luxbot followed by what you want to say. Local Power (via Ollama): The AI stuff happens on the developer's computer, which is a cool way to have AI without your questions and answers being used for training or anything else. Nothing you ask is saved or used at all. Gemma3: This is the brain of the bot, and it's good at understanding and using language. Random Anime Pictures: Want some anime? Use the /anime command! The bot will grab a random picture from Danbooru (only the safe ones). Just a heads-up, even though it tries to get safe images, sometimes things can slip through. Random Cat Pictures: Need a cute break? Type /cat and you'll get a random cat picture. Currency Conversion: Easily convert money between different currencies with the /exchange command. It gets the latest exchange rates (compared to the Euro right now) for quick conversions. Use it like this: /exchange from_currency to_currency amount (for example, /exchange from_currency USD to_currency GBP amount 100). It even helps you type the currency codes with autocomplete! Currencies List: See which currencies you can convert with the /currencies command. This list updates automatically with the newest info.

Important Things for Testers to Know: ⚠️ Alpha Stage: This bot is still in very early testing. Things might break, be buggy, or not work as expected. Getting images and currency rates depends on other websites, and they might have problems sometimes too. 📏 Response Length: Discord has limits, so AI answers might only be about 1950 characters long. ⏳ Command Sync: Discord takes a bit to update commands. So, if you try to use the slash commands right after the bot starts, you might get errors. 🤔 Not Just Questions: The bot can handle different things, but if you don't ask a question, the answers might not make as much sense. 🛠️ Admin Commands: Server admins have some special slash commands to do things like set a specific channel for responses or block users.
