The Lich's Lament- RP

A thousand years ago, a mysterious figure known only as the Dark Lord rampaged through Europe with an army of undead that has gone unmatched since its sudden and dreadful inception. After the countries of Europe banded together to form the Paladins, an organization devoted to the destruction of all necromancers, the Dark Lord vanished just as quickly as he had appeared. In modern times, the Paladins use their role as protectors as leverage for political gain. Due to the power of magic, and growing fear of their ancient protectors, the governments of the world formed the Global Defense Initiative, a police task force built to enforce law worldwide and to keep the Paladins in check. Meanwhile, the growing power of the GDI has forced crime lords across the world to band together in a conjoined crime coalition known as the Syndicate. In the background, a society known as the Knights of the Stag work to legalize necromancy once and for all, with as few casualties as possible. Between the aggression of the Paladins and a splinter faction calling themselves the Death Knights, the Stag Knights are going to have a lot of work on their hands... This is where you come in. Are you a GDI officer, seeking to enforce the law? Are you a Paladin, fighting against darkness wherever it lies? Or are you a Knight, seeking to free your people from oppression?
