Common fallacy within typology newcomers: "Any MBTI can be any enneagram!"

You may ask, 'Why not?' This is understandable. It is normal for a newcomer of typology to be hesitant to systematize the two theories in a seemingly dogmatic fashion because it assumes that some type combinations CANNOT exist. However, cognitive functions and enneagram both refer to ego structure, with visible differences in informational metabolism and informational preference for MBTI and ego fixations and ego ideals for enneagram. These differences mean that there are plenty of variances within enneagram-MBTI combinations, but, again, both systems rely on ego structure, and thus, both systems need a level of systematic coherency to 'calibrate' between the two theories.

When one says that a sociotype or MBTI type cannot be a certain enneagram, they are saying that the specific fixations and attitudes of certain enneagrams completely conflict with the attitudes of some information elements and/or cognitive functions. For example, it makes no sense for an ENFJ to be Enneagram 5 because the 5's ego fixation is on stinginess - the reluctance to interact with the physical world, whether it be through interpersonal relationships or material interaction. Both of which conflict with an ENFJ's strongest functions - Fe and Se. In a similar manner, some combinations are definitely impossible.
