Roleplaying international Diplomacy in an alternative world!
It is September 1949, it has just been discovered that the Soviet Union has developed their own nuclear arsenal. The Balance of Terror has set in. The Empires of Old, the United Kingdom and France are in their own struggles of decolonization with France embroiled in a war in their colonies of Indochina. In Europe the scars of World War 2 are clearly visible, the newly formed Federal Republic of Germany and its eastern counterpart form the border of the iron curtain in Europe. In the far East the People’s Republic of China has just won its civil war against the Republic of China, which is now in exile on the island of Taiwan and is now preparing to properly reunify the country under the communist leadership of Chairman Mao.
The future is uncertain, but one thing is clear conflict is on the horizon. Will the fledgeling organization of the United Nations and its members be able to prevent all out war, or will the world descent into Madness?
The Players would play as the different Nations in the world or those that still aspire to become nations. Each nation may eventually have to choose a side in this global Cold War to further their own interests through diplomacy, espionage, military might etc. all the while not causing a chain reaction that would lead to the end of the world. A thing very much a possibility in the Age of nuclear weapons and Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD)...
