SHINING CITY NOTICE

Long ago, an unknown cataclysm devastated earth, governments were erased, mountains were flattened, lush fields gave way to wasteland, oceans froze over, the sun went dim; and yet, somehow, humanity remained. Decades passed in the cold before a city of mysterious origin was discovered and three kings rose to protect her. After time immeasurable, from tall towers nestled behind metal walls, light reached out to the abyss from the relic core of the city and it was worshiped so that it may keep out the monsters that walk the earth. Under the watchful gaze of the triumvir, faith is restored among the first sovereigns of this Shining City. As our city expands, guilds grow, weapons are forged, and magics are learned. The streets give rise to commerce and trade, outsiders are welcomed in as if they were long lost friends, and we begin to look outward to the desolate lands beyond our walls… If only our tale was forever so hopeful. Things do not behave as legends say they once did. The fantastic terrors of our childhood nightmares are no longer fantasy. The laws that people once relied on to dictate our reality have proven disturbingly malleable as science fiction has submitted to unpredictable magics and workings simply not describable by our narrow understanding of science. Chasms open to swallow us whole, predators seek to ma̷rtyr and t̶o mam̵e̴̒ us, f̷ȯ̵r̸͐̀ hu̴m̷an̶̢̾it̷y is̸ n̵o̷͊̑t ẘ̸͘͝è̵͂l̴c̸̏̃o̸͛͘m̵̀̽̅ȅ̵ i̸n̶ ̷̀͠G̴̋ò̸̚͜͝d̴̈̏’̵̂͒s̶̈́ ̵͗̎n̷̛̑̃eẅ̸͆ ̸̓w̸͑͆͘ö̵r̸̽͆l̴̂ḋ̵̋. … … There are more humans out there… our watchers have proven this to be true and we are desperately trying to find them… Before we too, are lost in the dark forever…
