Red Sector was created for these purposes, while there is a really nice official server with plenty of amazing folk, they do tend to have less freedom as to what kind of channels and features they can add. We have less of these restrictions since it's a player run community, this allows us to add various features, bots and doohickeys in our server, this in turn also provides everyone else with a better sense of community.
