Spice & Wolf

The server is an extension to the r/SpiceAndWolf subreddit, with main focus on discussion of the story of Spice & Wolf novels, the spinoff series Wolf & Parchment, and their anime and manga adaptations, but also supporting plenty of optional off-topic discussions.

We also periodically organize over a year long Community Reading event to experience the story once again along with other people and talking about the events of individual novels.

Rules

1) Stay classy

Individuals who make consistent detrimental contributions to the server will be punished/removed. Derogatory, inflammatory, or otherwise hateful speech will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

2) Topics should be discussed in their proper locations

#general is for all discussions to a point. Spamming is not permitted. The #serious channel is opt-in and is self-assignable in #bot-chat. It is for serious discussion only. Violations will result in being muted from the channel. The #suggestions-feedback channel is not for memes. Excessive violations of this rule will result in being muted from the channel. Keep spoilers in #spice-and-wolf-spoilers and #wolf-and-parchment-spoilers. For one month after the release of a new novel, discussion should be kept within the chat channels under New Releases.

3) Raiding is not permitted

This includes our server members raiding other servers. Raiding will be met with an instant ban.

4) Keep NSFW content in its respective channel

Join by typing "!NSFW" in #bot-chat.

If something outside of the NSFW channel is borderline NSFW, the moderators and admins have the final say in whether or not it breaks the rules.

5) Respect each other

We're all for being open, but boundaries exist - don't push them. If you're clearly making others uncomfortable and/or mods/admins tell you to quit, you should. Pointlessly arguing or otherwise dragging it out will result in you getting muted.

Breaking the rules will result in punishments ranging from a mute to a permanent ban. Punishments usually follow an order of Warning > Mute > Kick > Ban, though skips may occur if deemed appropriate, depending on previous offences and severity.* In the instance where an offence is committed that is not covered by the rules, the moderators and administrators will review it on a case by case basis.

Punishments are almost always decided upon by multiple mods before they're carried out, though mistakes can happen. If you feel you were unfairly punished, DM an admin. However, this isn't an excuse to be rude. Being rude rarely leads to a revert. Arguing with or mocking them may lead to a bigger punishment and they have every right to decide not to talk to you further or that they do not want you around anymore.

Please keep in mind that while we try to keep spoilers in their appropriate channels, you run the risk of being exposed to them by participating in this server.
